Seahaven Noosa Heads

Luxury has a new address on Noosa’s famed Hastings Street with the reopening of Seahaven Noosa which welcomed its first guests on Monday the 6th of January 2014.

Noosa’s largest beachfront resort (occupying almost 20 per cent of streets’ beach frontage) has spent the past nine months undergoing a $16 million recreation in which every element of the property was remodelled and modernised.

Seahaven Resort Noosa’s Manager Lee-Ann Hay said the reinvention was a rare opportunity to create a luxury, absolute beach front resort in Noosa from the ground up. “In working with our architect, Jono Medhurst from DM2 Architecture, and drawing from my two decades of experience in managing beachside resorts in Noosa, we were able to design and reinvent a resort which, with its luxury finishes and world class facilities, will meet the needs of a wide variety of travellers,’ Ms Hay said.

Seahaven Noosa is home to 68 rooms made up of rooftop penthouse apartments which boast 180 degree ocean views, one and two bedroom beachfront apartments, studio rooms and Hasting Street suites.

“The diversity of accommodation options ensures the property caters to families, couples, corporate travellers as well as weddings and groups,” said Ms Hay.

All beach front apartments contain full kitchens, laundry facilities, spa-baths, barbeques, Foxtel, free in room Wi-Fi, secure parking, luxury furnishings and fittings and direct beach access. The resorts four rooftop penthouses have individual private roof-top terraces each with six-person spa pool. The resorts new amenities and services include four heated pools and spa, covered beachfront barbeque area, grassed courtyards, onsite gymnasium, daily servicing and a concierge desk which can assist with guest dining and tour bookings. “We have a lot of guests who have been coming to Seahaven Resort for generations, excitingly many of these people will be checking in with us when we re-open our doors on Friday 27 December, 2013. “It’s going to be nice to welcome familiar faces to a completely new resort in the same location, we are really proud of what we have done and are looking forward to seeing their jaw-dropping reaction to the new Seahaven,” Ms Hay said.

The completion of the Seahaven Noosa recreation comes at a time of revitalisation for the Hasting Street precinct.

“It has been an exciting year in Noosa with substantial investment and revitalisation of several resorts and restaurants culminating in the re-opening of Seahaven Noosa. These new developments have been a key reason why Noosa was recently voted Best Summer Holiday Destination by readers Australian Traveller Magazine,” said General Manager of Tourism Noosa Damien Massingham.

Seahaven Noosa was purchased by Unison Projects, an investment company owned by John and Linda Van Lieshout, former owners of retail giant Super A-Mart, in June 2011 for $39 million. Noosa has been a big part of John and Linda’s life having enjoyed a family holiday home in the area for over 24 years. Being proud locals they were happy to be able to use the Sunshine Coast office of Hutchinson Builders to undertake the construction work on the project.
